Lack of Modifiers Can Cost You More Than You Think!
We have come across some offices that are not using modifiers and/or are not using them correctly.
Exactly what effect does this have on your practice?
-Less cash flow
-Angry patients with a higher balance to self pay
-Incorrect use of modifiers = incorrect coding = unhappy insurance companies/government
Those are three very serious issues!
For example, modifier 33 is not being used correctly by some practices. This is costing practices reimbursement dollars and patient happiness/satisfaction. I strongly suggest that you check out your list of modifiers and use them correctly. They can make your life better!!
